About Us

Colthurst Northland is a 100% Northland Owned Family Business.

Owner Sam Colthurst has an extensive background in Residential, Commercial, and New Build flooring.

Sam has worked for Australia’s largest flooring retailer(Harvey Norman, New Zealand’s largest Tile retailer(Tile Warehouse) and worked directly for a New Zealand Carpet Manufacture as their National Sales Manager(Carpet Mill). This diverse background has let Sam work closely in commercial, new builds, residential, and product specifications at a high level.

In 2019, Sam decided it was time to give back to Northland and look after the locals directly and purchased the franchise Floorwise Northland. Floorwise Northland grew from 2 staff members to 32 very quickly with contractors and salespeople. In 2021 due to timing and opportunity, Sam Colthurst rebranded to Colthurst Flooring, where he could alter his brand to suit their customers and produce a more Northland Local feel/experience.

Ellie Pascoe

Instore Sales Consultant

Meet Ellie! Ellie is the sweet voice you will usually hear when giving the store a call, or at the front desk to meet you. Ellie is fairly new and is learning really quickly! We are stoked to have her onboard with us, full time instore, helping out with customers, quoting, and anything else that needs doing!
In her spare time you will find her at home looking after her cats, or hanging with her partner. Coming from the hospitality industry she also makes a mean coffee!!

Jordan Dando

Installation, Warehouse, Trade Manager

Meet Jordy our new Installation, Warehouse and Trade area Manager. You will usually speak to Jordan when the time comes to book in your job, or in our stores Clearance and Trade area working hard. Jordan had been in the flooring industry for many years as an installer himself so has a wealth of knowledge behind him. We’re stoked to have Jordan join the team – off the tools this time helping us out in-store.
In his spare time you can find him at the beach with his kids, at the pub or out golfing!

Lynne Hyde

Sales and Contract Manager

Meet Lynne! Some of you may recognise Lynnes friendly face, she has been in the flooring industry for a long time, with an absolute wealth of knowledge and experience Lynne is our newest valued team member. You can find Lynne instore helping customers, or out on the road visiting some of the housing companies and retirement homes we look after.
In her spare time Lynne enjoys pottering in the garden, or brunching with friends or hubby Maurice.

Lorren Shepherd

Accounts Manager & Sales Consultant

Meet Lorren – Lorren has been with us for around 6 months now, working hard keeping our accounts up to date. You will usually find Lorren hiding at a computer, answering the phone and helping in-store customers – always looking absolutely amazing!
Lorrens got a knack for social media so you may also see some of her work pop up on here.
Lorrens partner in crime is one of our trusty installers, and in their spare time they are kept busy with 3 young kids to run around after, or when Lorren has a spare 5 minutes you’ll find her fitting in a gym session!

Christa Smith

Sales Consultant / Estimator

Meet Christa Smith –

Christa Smith, is Colthursts qualified quantifier and pricing specialist.

Christa is our instore superstar and is usually the friendly voice on the phone or first person you see when you enter the shop at the main desk. If you can’t see her you can usually hear her singing her heart out.

Christa is an amazing baker

and also can be caught on weekends chasing after her kids.

Alexis Fromont

Mobile Showroom Manager & Sales Consultant

Meet Alexis Fromont –

Alexis Fromont is an all rounder at Colthurst Flooring. Lexi is our Mobile Showroom manager so when you get a FREE measure and quote she is likely to be the one to come out to your house. You can also find her in-store, and after working with us for around 4 years she’s a pretty awesome sales lady, having extensive knowledge about all the products we sell.

Outside of work you can usually find Alexis in her garden obsessing over her garden and chickens, coaching her daughters football team, or supporting rugby matches with Sam and Chris her partner.

Zane Buchanan

Warehouse Manager & Sales Consultant

Meet Zane Buchanan –

Zane also known as Captain America is our Operations Manager. Zane ensures all our orders arrive on time, helps manage our installers, precuts our products ready for install, manages the warehouse and has a wealth of knowledge with technical requirements.

Zane has come from a background in the army, and is paving his way in a successful future in the flooring industry. Zane prides himself on being honest, reliable and efficient.

Outside of work you can find Zane surfing

throughout the biggest storms, walking with his prized dog

Ned or hanging out with his crazy Waikato supporter fiancé Toni and their gorgeous boy Leon.

Teresa Colthurst

Owner/ Colour Consultant

Meet Teresa Colthurst –

Teresa Colthurst is an owner of Colthurst Flooring, and usually is running around in the background completing any tasks the team needs that they don’t have time for.

Teresa is a qualified Interior Designer so is available to assist in flooring design choices and specifically Tile Design. Teresa is also available for FREE 3D Design Space renders to help you visualize your new bathroom.

Outside of work you can usually find Teresa running Waterfalls and Waves – Hair and Makeup doing hair and make up for events, chasing around after her x2 daughters and coaching their netball team, playing netball for FID, running

, at the beach

or caring for SPCA kittens

and her dogs, goat and cat at home.

Sam Colthurst

Owner/Director

Meet Sam Colthurst –

Sam Colthurst is an owner of Colthurst Flooring and in 2019 took a leap of faith to open the store.

Sam manages and assists the team through daily duty’s, and is proud to have had hand trained all staff members independently.

Outside of work you can usually find Sam over working, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, supporting the mighty Taniwha or All Blacks, looking after his daughters, or hanging with his amazing wife Teresa.
